  •  Yes, we are still here (in my parents' house). We decided not to move last week. My kitchen wasn't quite as done as I wanted it to be and also we didn't want to make our week so busy with Darin's mom here visiting. We had a great time with her, and her cousin who drove out with her! The children really enjoyed spending time with Grandma again! So glad they could come!
Here is Grandma (Lucy) on the left and her cousin, Mary.

We are planning on moving this week! Darin has a job he needs to do for a local church, first. He thinks it will only take two days. Then, there's some things he needs to do at our house on Wed. and hopefully we will be moving on Thursday! I am going to be taking a few loads over here in the beginning of the week of things we won't need for a little while. I also need to clean in the downstairs of the new house. I got most of the upstairs cleaned last week or the week before.
I don't have much more to say. I do have some pictures I want to share. The sky out here is so interesting. It seems different a lot of times from the sky back east. I notice it more, for some reason.

Here is a storm moving in - taken last month

I don't think I ever saw the sky look like this before. I took this
a couple of weeks ago when we were having stormy weather.

Kaitlin took this one just last night. There was a storm to the north of us.

Here is the same cloud a little later. Later, after dark we were watching
lightning in this cloud. Someone was getting a storm, but it was so far
away that we couldn't even hear the thunder. It was neat. God is an awesome Creator!

  • Last update... for a while

We have had a very busy week, but I wanted to write a quick update.
We are nearly ready to move into our house. On Monday we went shopping for the rest of the faucets and the toilets we needed yet, so that the plumbers could get done. On Tuesday I spent several hours cleaning and putting things away. Darin is working on the kitchen counter tops now. We originally thought we were not going to move until everything was done. We've changed our minds! We are so anxious to be there and it is taking so long, that we decided to move as soon as possible! But, I do need a kitchen first! We have all our appliance bought and just need to finish the cabinets yet. Darin has been working very hard.
I wanted to move before we got the visitors that we were expecting this month, but it didn't happen.  My friend Miriam, from FL, came on Wed. and left this morning. It was so good to see her again! I also got to meet her new husband, Tim, for the first time. They are planning on leaving next year to go to Papua New Guinea as missionaries. I will probably not see them again before they go. I am so glad she could come and see us.
Now I am getting ready for our next visitors. Darin's mom and her cousin are coming! They are getting here later today! This will be the first time Darin's mom has been out here to this area of the country. We are looking forward to showing her around. We really, really wanted to be in our new house before she came but. . .         I don't know if we will still try to move while she is here or not. They are going to be here for almost a week. It would be nice to have the extra space, and she said she would be glad to help us move, but  I don't want to be so busy that we can't enjoy the vist! Pray for us.
That brings me to the reason this might be the last update for a while. After we move, I don't know how soon we will get the computer, and especially the internet, up and running. I'm not sure what kind of service we will be able to get at our new place.

Here are some pictures I wanted to share. Our little Sawyer is really growing! He gets around very well and pulls himself up at furniture (and toilets). He is a lot of fun, but it takes a bit more watching now to keep him out of trouble!

Also, as if I didn't have enough to do already, we got a new puppy and are trying to house train her. She is fun too, but takes even more watching than Sawyer when she is loose in the house!

One thing I am grateful for is that we are finished with school for the year! No more of this for a couple of months! Yay!!

I took this picture Sunday evening when we were getting ready
to leave. Morgan was SO tired out from our busy weekend.
She asked Darin if she could take a nap, and a little later
we found her nodding off in this chair.

  • Zimmerman Family Reunion - part 1

We had a busy, but fun weekend! Most of the offspring of my late grandparents were there. We had a good time catching up and visiting with cousins, aunts and uncles. My uncle Clay's family was here from Romania and I had not seen them for a long time. I had never seen some of his younger children.
We rented a place that had a house and a garage situated in the woods near a large pond/lake. It was a very nice setting. The children had a lot of fun and were most often down by the water.
We started the weekend with Friday evening supper. We had grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. The main event of the evening was fishing! Several families brought fishing rods and some of the men and children went fishing.
